Payments

Why We Use Crypto Checkout

Lower fees, instant verification, and full payment transparency — here's why we built checkout around blockchain-native payments, and how to pay if you'd rather not.

The Short Version

Traditional payment processors charge high fees, hold funds for weeks, and expose both buyers and sellers to chargeback disputes. For a niche research supply business, these problems are amplified — processors often flag or restrict accounts in this category entirely.

Crypto avoids all of that. Payments are final, verifiable on a public ledger, and settle in minutes instead of days. It’s the fastest way to get an order moving, and it’s the option we discount.

Crypto isn’t your only option

You don’t need to hold crypto to order. Cash App is available at checkout and is confirmed by hand, usually within a few hours, and any store credit on your account can be applied to an order. Crypto is simply the fastest and the only method that carries a discount, which is why this page explains it in detail.

The payment options shown at checkout are always the current list. If we add a method, it appears there first — that screen reads from our live payment configuration, so it can never fall out of date the way a written list can.

What You Get as a Buyer

Instant verification

Every payment is verified automatically on the blockchain. No waiting for manual review — your order moves to processing as soon as the transaction confirms.

Full transparency

Your transaction hash is a permanent, public receipt. You can verify the exact amount sent, the timestamp, and the destination address on any block explorer — no trust required.

Financial privacy

Your credit card number, bank account, and financial details never touch our servers. The only payment data we store is the blockchain transaction hash — which is already public.

Lower overhead, better prices

No 3–5% processing fees on every transaction means we can keep prices competitive and offer free shipping at a lower threshold than most competitors.

Coins and Networks

Every crypto option we offer is a dollar-pegged stablecoin, so the amount you send is the exact amount we receive — no rate movement between sending and confirmation. You choose a network at checkout, and the address you’re given works for that network only. Crypto quotes stay open for 60 minutes.

Send on the same network you selected at checkout — this is the one mistake we cannot undo.

Your exchange or wallet will ask which network to send on, and it has to match the one you picked. On Ethereum (sometimes labelled ERC-20) this matters most: Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism and BNB Chain all use an address in the same 0x… format as ours, so the withdrawal screen will happily accept our address and send your money to a chain we do not watch. On Solana, send only the coin you selected — each coin has its own address there and they are not interchangeable. Funds sent on the wrong network cannot be recovered.

Ethereum

ERC-20

Send USDC or USDT. Both arrive at the same address, so either coin is fine — the verifier reads which one actually arrived. Ethereum charges a network gas fee in ETH from your own wallet; it varies with congestion and is separate from the amount you send us.

Solana

lowest fee

Send USDC — on Solana we accept USDC only, not USDT. Network fees are a fraction of a cent, paid in SOL from your own wallet, which makes this the cheapest way to pay by a wide margin. Each coin has its own address on Solana, so send only the coin you selected at checkout.

New to crypto?

If you don’t own any crypto yet, start with our buying guide — it covers getting your first USDC and choosing the right network. If you already hold a stablecoin, go straight to the payment guide. Most first-time buyers are done in under 15 minutes.
